Installing Powering Steering
Hey guys I'm back with another request for some info. My brain is hungry for knowledge. I own a '93 4x4 pickup with no power steering as of yet. I know a couple junkyards around my town that have power steering rigs from which I will be salvaging the entire power steering system. So my questions are as follows:
A) Must I use a power steering pump from the exact year of my rig, or can I get away with salvaging the parts from a 86-95 rig?
B) Will I need to make modifications to any components or will this be a mostly "bolt in" project?
C) Is there a thread that already covers this because I cannot find one anywhere that goes through the entire process.
Hope someone out there can STEER me in the right directions lol.

I would see if those yards would let you bring in your truck park it next to one of the trucks with power steering and just swap them, it's a closed system with a reservoir so take everything off as a single unit including the steering box (Not sure if the manual box has block offs for PS hoses), you'll need to bring a suspension fork and hammer/mini sludge or a puller to take off the pitman arm, It could be done in no time, on your old manual box presoak everything your going to remove. Here is a drawing from a parts site to show you what is needed.

Having PS on a 4x4 is really needed, I don't have PS on my B2300 but it's only a 2wd and not as heavy and 13" tires compared to my 93 toy and don't have to worry going off-road, but with PS on the toy I can turn the wheel with one finger!!!!
Do a write up on it with pics!!!!
