Hey does anyone know the best way to install A/C in my 93 pickup, i believe it is a base model and A/C didn't come stock...any ideas?!?!

I went to the local Toyota dismantler and got a complete factory change over for $340. Using all the original parts, with a new condensor and canister. It goes in EXTREMELY easy, and after getting the compressor bolted up and belt on, you have about 45 minutes of work left to be done.
All the wires are there, sitting where you need them. The switch that goes into the dash just pushes, and clicks into the electrical connection(no need to take ANY dash components apart).
Charged it, and it works great. Had it for 2 summers now.

 

yea i'm up in the boonies, I'll have to find someone like that here with the parts.
how about adapting something from a different vehicle????

 

Too much work. Youd be splicing wires/connectors, making brackets to allow the compressor to be bolted up to the engine block, etc. Buy the factory stuff, spend an hour and youll have AC.

I got mine from a Toyota dismantler. All they deal with is Toyota Truck & SUV (which is the name of the company). Look online or in your local phone book for a Toyota specific dismantler. Or Craigslist for someone parting out a truck or 4runner.

 

I got one from a yard for $250.

For my 94 the under dash plug in is 10 pin male the AC box plug is 8 pin??

Something to know ahead of time I'm sure.

I think the system needs needs oil in it, as well as some freon.
