Inspection Light questions
I searched but could not find anything.
On my 86 4Runner, I have a 2 prong outlet next to the hood release for the Inspection Light. What is this for? Where do you get an inspection light? Part #? Looks cool, but I cant seem to find any info on it. TIA.

It looks like its part # 81370-89101. I'll try to get a pic of the socket. Anyone have a pic of the light or a review of how well it works?
You can see it here http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_198....html?hl=81370

No, I have not tested the voltage, I just found it today while troubleshooting an AC electrical issue. I have researched on mud and found that these are on FJ55 and FJ60 cruisers, not sure about 40s. They are not on FJ62 or newer. It also looks like this is an SR5 option, although I cannot confirm if all SR5 have these or just some. Anyone have an SR5 without this plug?
As far as voltage, it has to be 12v. I looked in the owner's manual and it says not to plug anything bug the inspection lamp in there.

I have one that goes with my '86; it's a crappy light, probably about 10W or so -- good if you were stuck, but not for much else. Mine lives in my glovebox for those 'just in case' times.
It's got two prongs, and in the middle, there's what I guess is a 'ground' port. I know somewhere, there are specific instructions to NOT connect anything other than that light to the circuit, and I've never gotten curious enough to plug anything else in, and haven't even plugged mine in for years.
