A lot of us have put bigger tires on our trucks. Pounding the pinch weld is the most common answer to tire rub.
I've pounded my pinch weld flat and did a little trimming on the inner fender (plastic shield).
In Alberta, you need to have the entire tire covered and mudflaps.
I tried using rubber floor mat (on the roll) to make some cheapo fender flares and low-profile mud flaps.
With the snow and ice, the flaps sag and rub on the tire. They are all torn up or gone now and have ripped the corner of my inner fender.

Two questions:
1. What have you done to protect the inner fender?

2. What have you done for cheap fender flares or mudflaps?

 

If you have sliders you could weld some nuts to the slider and bolt on your mud flaps. Or, weld on some square tubing 4" or 6" long sticking out from your frame and get some outside diameter square tubing that matches the inside diameter of the tubing and slide in the smaller tube. Then drill 2 holes in the bigger tube, weld some nuts in front of the boles and when you slide in the smaller tubing you just the bolt and it grabs the smaller tube. Ill be doing this in the next couple of weeks. Makes it easy to remove them on the trail

 

Might try something like the steel reinforced style below:


I picked up a set from JC Whitney, they seem like they will work well.

 

There's little or no lip in my fender wheel. I had to staple my rubber flaps to my inner fender (plastic shield).
Maybe I'll have to put a wire through it to hold it up.
I'm planning on getting bushwacker cut-outs in the future but I need to do some repairs first before I drop that kind of money on plastic.
