im stupid.. help me understand this swap info

I've read over this 100 times and feel dumber...more dumb...every time. The link is to a huge amount of info on swapping bellhousings. It includes the r150 151 ect.
Sorry it's a Jeep site.
http://www.jeeps-offroad.com/showthread.php?t=4740

The way I read it is... since the bolt pattern (housing/case) is the same on all listed there should be a huge number of engine options that just "bolt up" to the trans. I know shaft length would need attn. On most of them. I am no expert. I have complete a few swaps in my day but they were total transplants.(engine/trans ) any insight would be awesome.

i too have seen this list and have filed it away. pretty cool if you want to bolt in a liberty diesel use a bell from a v6 dodge dakota and it all bolts together. input shafts can be swapped but may have to swap the whole cluster gear. with aisin being the manufacturer for all of these the possibilities are almost endless. want to swap in a 4jg1t mitsu diesel? swap a v6 montero bell and your good!! i love it!!
