I'm back with a new project

It's been a long time since I had the opportunity to do another project

I will be working on a 1987 Toyota truck base model 22-R I believe (it's my Bosses truck and it belonged to his father RIP) 5 speed.

The truck apparently had the "White Smoke syndrome" so to make a long story shorter. The Bosses son removed the engine, to install another from a Celica, however when I inspected the Celeca engine before they decided to install it. I said " No GO, with that engine. I already see major issues with it" so they took my advice and now the Boss asked me to repair the original engine. The original engine I believe has over 200,000 on the clock.

I will be having the truck towed to my house, and I'm not sure which way I'm going to approach this situation, because the engine is out of the truck and all external parts have been removed, so you know what that means

I would appreciate any knowledgeable input on how you would tackle this project? I know how I'm going to do it, however professional opinions will be appreciated.

I do have the knowledge and background to do this project, but I don't know everything, 'bout everything, if ya know what I mean

I will post pics ect once the truck gets to my house.

commenting mainly because I would like too fallow along.
If you are putting it back to stock with all stock equipment, that would be a nightmare for me. lol
I had a hell of a time putting a basket case back together recently and that was a totally desmogged webber equipped rig.

What are you needing help with on the external parts. I just got in from pulling a head off of a 87 22r with a Webber. I can take pictures and will post information if you need me to when I reassemble it. I take the head to the shop tomorrow and not sure how long it will take them to do the service it may need. This can be a week long process for me as I will be working on a seprate truck this week end.

I will post pictures on my 86 runner build when I reassemble it. I did not take any of the disassembly. If you dont mind post any questions or comments on my 86 runner build as I will find it quicker. This could take a week or better so it wont be a quick answer as far as reassembly. If you are doing a motor rebuild, I really dont have much help in that area.

I would strongly suggest getting a Webber if it were me. Your life will be so much simpler with it if you dont have to deal with emissions.
