Ignitor wire connector problem
It was pure luck that I found the temp fix for this problem. Sometimes my truck will turn over but won't start. By messing with this connector (pictured below), the truck starts right up. After doing this dozens of times now, I find my best luck is with unplugging it, and shoving it back together quickly. You would think it's simply a dirty connection. I got in there with a nail file and though I did a really good job cleaning it. But still, about 1 out of every 5 times I go to start it, I have to go through this process. It is the wire coming out of the igniter.
Does this connector serve any special purpose, or can I hard wire these wires together?
Other suggestions on getting a good contact here? Should I shove some bulb grease in there?
Can I rule out a bad coil or igniter (there's an aftermarket igniter on there now)?
