ignition timing and power

my truck seems to be running good. however i know the timing is supposed to be 5 degress btdc and mine is at about 15 btdc. is this going to cause power loss or any other problems for me? i tried gettin the timing right but i have no more room to turn the distributor, its at the end of the slot.

how did you check the timing, engine has to be warm and you have to take off the vacuum hose off the distributor and plug the hose. I am assuming this is a 22re.

yes the vacuum hose gives the distributor additional advance 10-12 degrees i think but don't quote me on that. But it has to be off and plugged when you set that 5 btdc.

I seem to have lost my vaccume hose for the distributor during an engine swap. No one can sell me the hose until they know the size. Also I can find a diagram or the place on the engine fir the vacuums hose to run to. I see the port on the distributor but where does the other end go?

You only pull off vacuum if it is a 22r carbed motor. The injected 22re needs a jumper wire installed between ports E1 and TE1 in the diagnostics box. It is on the side of the engine fuse box. Get a FSM, it will have everything you need in there!!
