My truck is a 91 22re manual but the previous owner of my truck did and engine swap from a 93 2.4 22re manual 4runner and when he did for what ever reason he cut and spliced the grey wire that goes from the igniter assembly and coil pack to the distributor. I think This is y I am getting a code 43(Starter signal (STA) is not input to ECM even once until engine reaches 800 rpm or more when cranking.) my question is can I swap a spare igniter and coil pack that has the rectangular coil for my ingiter and coil pack which is round and see if I am still getting the error code??
