Ignition

I have a 94 3.0 vze
My computer is getting good signal from the pick up in my distributor, but my computer isn't sending any signal to my igniter. Please help! I tried a spare computer, it's possible that they are both bad but I really don't think that's the case.

Which signal did you check from the distributor to the ECU? There are 3 signals that are required, an NE signal (24 pulses/revolution) and two G signals (4 pulses per revolution). If any of those are missing the ECU won't generate a spark.

Here's a link to an autoshop101 article on the Toyota ignition. For the '94 3vze, look at the ESA system on page 5.

Other things to check:
- What's the voltage at the ignitor? If it's stuck low it's possible that the ignitor itself is shorted.
- Verify continuity of the wiring between ECU and ignitor.

Sorry I meant to say I tested all the pickups in the distributor and checked all three signals going to the ECM,
And I'm almost positive my igniter is getting proper voltage but I'll check that again. Thanks for the help
