Toyota did/does make a awesome EWD schematic book for their vehicles. I highly recommend watching ebay for you 1991 and grab one when you see a decent quality one for cheap. I got mine a year ago for $20.00.

That said, here's the image from my 1987 4Runner book. Besides giving letters for wiring color/stripes, it also gives the connector, the letter in the circle. Next to the schematic is a image of those connectors, even showing the pin locations.
If you have a decent relationship with your local dealer you could ask them to see both 1991 and 1992 books and take pictures, then make comparisons.

That is so much more readable than my chiltons, Haynes and FSM pdf that I have. I typically sprint in the opposite direction from electrical issues, but maybe it's time to embrace schematics.

Thanks, that is a helpful link. I'll look through it before doing anything. However, my coil is now the FAST/crane street ignition coil, so I'm not sure how that fits into the entire electrical issue.

Has anyone tried just clipping the igniter to coil connecter and bolting it on?

Did you try this? Got bad igniter and can't afford price of new 1. The 89260-35210 only difference is wires to coil are on a plug and want to by the $40 if I can just cut the plug off. It's 2 wire as opposed to 3 wire (2 positive).
