I know what ya mean.
A few months after that, I was stuck pretty good and had a guy in a fullsize blazer pull me out. I wasn't moving so I told him to hit it a little harder. He was using a 1 3/4" rope that was about 70' long and he probabally got it into overdrive before it got tight. It hit the back window when it broke , knocked me in the back of the head, and shotgunned the back glass all over the side of my face. Felt like superman hitting me in the back of the head with his forearm. Not something I want to repeat.
I've been pulling on people like in that vid for ~10 years with my yota and have had zero problems. You just have to take each situation with some common sense. Needless to say, I'm a little more pickey on who I let hook up to my vehicle.

The only thing scarier than using a rope for extraction are the guys that break out a chain
. Stick to the rated, 2"+ wide straps for that kind of action. And stay away from any strap that has a hook sewn into it! I had a rope break on me. It was connected to a strap with a shackle. When the rope broke it launched the shackle into my rear bumper. I was amazed at the size of the dent, almost went through it. It could have killed somebody.

You wouldn't mind putting your engine on a boat and sending it over here would you?
OUCH!
Somehow, I don't think that qualifies as "treading lightly".
Particularly the first video, driving over saplings, etc.

thanks for the worries but that is on private land and they guy clear cuts out there so it gets trashed anyways , that area will have tractors and large equip. pretty soon

Cool. I thought it looked like there had been 'dozer run through there a few years ago, based on the cuts in the background. Around here, tho' there aren't very many places where it makes sense to clearcut. Much drier / higher here. Trees grow too slow.
