ifs bushing questions

ok, i'm doing a 4 inch lift on my 94 sr5 and i'm wondering if anyone here has dealt with the control arm bushings? if so i'm wondering even more if anyone here has used the energy suspension polteurathanes that do not have the metal outer and inner sleeves, and how had that problem been solved?

You gotta press out the old bushings without damaging the sleeve, and then press the new energy bushings into the original sleeve. Right now I got the arms off the truck and I'm trying to figure out how to do just that.
There's a youtube video out there that shows how to make a homemade bushing press. If it works, (and I'll let ya know if it does) that's the way to go. Otherwise it's a hundred dollar tool you'll probably never use again.
And I think if you damage the sleeve, you're pretty much S.O.L. Toyota only sells you the whole control arm.
The IFS suspension- pain in the rear. After two days of taking it apart, visions of solid axles were dancing in my head. Just couldn't justify dropping fifteen hundred bucks on a swap when bushings, ball joints, and tools I'll use again are running less than five hundred dollars.

Ah, well.
Best of luck!

if i had known that the ifs would be such a pain in the ass i would have gone to a solid axle and just put this whole process off. i actually sent my control arms to a friend with a machine shop because he has a press, so if all goes well i will have this under wraps soon. are you lifting or just replacing parts?
