i'm just wondering if its possible to change out my rear diff (93 2wd) out for a 4x4 ifs 7.5inch? i'm talking about the WHOLE unit. i'm wanting to install a lockright in my 7.5 but right now the spider gears are welded, to reduce down time i thought i'd just get another one, but all i could find are 4x4 diffs.

The IFS and the rear 7.5 carry the same locker.I'm guessing it will work.

 

Only thing that will swap is the gears and the carrier. The housings are totally different. The best thing to do is find a 1 ton 2wd or a 4 speed base model Toy p/u. These have the 8" axles but with 5 lug and 30 spline. Also they are setup for 2wd trucks as well. You can use 4x4 3rd members in your 2wd rear. Neat huh?
