idler pully tensioner broke!
alright, so i have a 1989 pickup with a 22re and a 5 speed.
there is a belt that looks like it runs some type of smog/air pump and it runs down to the crank and up to an idler arm pully at the top. there is a tensioning bolt to tighten the belt up.
i was trying to tighten my belt and the bolt just snapped because it was over tightened, so now the only thing holding the pully is the main shaft bolt going through the center of the pully. and the tensioner bolt is completely broke off.
i used a pry bar and got the belt tight and tightened the pully down hoping it would stay. do you think it would vibrate loose and change positions?
also where could i get this part, the auto parts stores dont even carry it.

It should hold for a while. The reason why it broke is because you tried to tighten it without loosening up the bolt that holds the barrel nut together. You can get a replacement bolt at the toyota dealer.

i did actually loosen the main shaft or barrel nut whatever you wanna call it. i tightened it quite a bit, and it got stiff, and then being a dumb a$$ i tried to tighten it more and it snapped.
