idleing way high??

ok so i have a 94 extra cab 4x4 with a 3.0 V6 just hit 220,000miles and when I start first thing for the day it idles at almost 2k and when it warms up it idles at 1.5k but if i turn it off and then start it it idles bout 900 and then when i rev it it goes back to idling at 1.5k and reason it is doing that? and where is the idle adjustment screw to maybe adjust it?

If it goes up and down then I would not think it is the idle adj , I would imagine you have a bad temp sensor or vsv probably , I would start by making sure that all your vacum connections are good and hoses good , make sure your throttle body (inside is clean) and all the throttle body ports are clean , would blow out vacum hoses and lines and check all of your control/sensor plugs for starters then move on .
Do you have a FSM for your trk?

You said if you kicked it it would drop to 900 ...........have you checked simple stuff like throttle cable and throttle body vac ports and maybe a sticking throttle plate

Try adjusting the idle to 800 rpm when the engine is good and warm. If it won't go that low, your throttle stop screw may need backed off a little. Which will mean checking your TPS adjustment, and maybe adjusting the dashpot a touch too. But, let's cross that bridge when/if we get to it.

Clockwise=Idle Down/Counter-Clockwise=Idle Up
