idle screw on 22re

This is sort of related to my "idle demon" thread, but this is more of a poll. I just want to know about everyone else's idle air screw on the throttle body of the 22re. How far out is it supposed to be? Assuming you tighten it all the way and then slowly unscrew it, how many turns should it take before you're idling at spec RPM?

I know everyone's is different, but I just want to know if there's an average. I know mine is abnormal right now.

I never should have touched mine. The FSM says nothing on it.

Mine is not out very far. Your throttle plate should be completely closed (throttle stop screw) and the throttle adjustment (on the top) should not be out very far. If you have it backed way out you probebly have a leak in the intake tube causing the AFM flapper to not be opening far enough.

idle air screw or throttle stop screw? the throttle stop adjusts actual throttle plate angle when closed (linkage rests against it) and the idle air screw is the one that is purpendicular to the throttle bore (might have a rubber plug covering it)

If you're having a high idle problem on the 22RE, try taking off the throttle damper first (thing with the rubber boot). I had an intermittent high idle problem years ago and have since taken that thing off every 22RE I've owned with no problems
