Ideas for an old 4runner??

Well, I have been trying to sell my 1994 4runner as I will be soon geting a car for commuting.
I was thinking about buying a 1st gen for wheeling.

I now have the price set at $3200 and there is no intrest in it at all.
Ive been thinking of what to do with it if i keep it.
If i make it a trail rig it will be a MAX BUDGET rig. i have access to alot of parts, I cant pay for much on it.

So, the hard part, coming up with good, usuable, buildable ideas.
One of the ideas so far, chop the top, maybe loose the sunroof to chop it further up at the front of the rear doors.

What are some ideas everyone has though of but wouldnt personaly do?

what do you have in mind? I would love to build a crawler but i live three hours away from any rocks. i work out of my 4runner so it must be as good on gas as possible. i do a ton of searching for mods on mine. let us know what direction you want to go and you will get some help.

i have always liked the chopped back look
or you could try doing the roll on paint cheap and makes your truck look tihgt
but on a tight budget theirs not alot possible

well shoot, u just throw in some spools, jack it up high enough to fit some nasty 35's, take off the doors, gear it low, and ur set. that wouldnt be expensive at all. lol. except for the tires, and possibly the lift. the gearing.. well. its a pretty low budget project there. roll on paint, cut whatever u want to, make er pretty in your eyes and no one elses. good luck man. more power to ya.

chop it, mod the doors to come off, cheap tires on craigslist, whatever lift you can figure out and have a blast

If you chop the top won't you loose structural integrity?

Some, but the 4Rs have a boxed frame rather than a unibody so it's less of an issue.

SAS and narrow the front and bob the rear...put an exo cage for good structural integrity and for the obvious...ummm put in a 350 small block crate engine i mean there are sooo many possibilities when this truck isn't a DD you just have to find the ones that are more suitable to you and MOST important what your you going to be using the truck specifically to do rockcrawling, trail riding, pre running or all the above that will also depend how the truck is built.
