Question I need some help hooking up my tach

I finally got a tach for my truck('94. came without a tach) and I'm doing this for the first time so I could use a little help. there are 4 wires caming out of the tach: a red(power), black(ground), white(light), and green(goes to engine). it says I'm suposed to splice the while into the gauge cluster harnes so I pulled apart the dash, but I have no clue what wire to splice into. and the green wire is suposed to splice into a black wire on the negitive side of the coil, but I don't know what side is the negitive side.
any help would be great.

I just intalled a new intrument cluster in my 89 toyota pickup. I didn't have a tach on my old when so I went to the local junk yard and picked a cluster with a tach from a 90 4 runner and installed it without messing with any wires and everything workes fine including the tach.

Here are some write ups hope this helps.

Your coil is labeled - and + I have a 89' and if you're standing in front of it the - is on the left side.
