The bearings are standard, and the right ones for the 3VZE. What about the rings Brand and part#

peek in and see if the ring ends are touching each other. and the end gaps should not be all lined up. they should rotate, either clockwise or anti-clockwise, about 120 degrees apart from one ring to the next

if they're all lined up, the oil has a straight path through the rings... and your compression does too.

i have put together many of these motors and it sounds like the rings are over sized or piston or baering/rod caps are on wrong

ya i put them off set i was saying i got them all to the way the book said. sry about the mix up. but i cant find the box the new rings came in so i cant tell you the name but im checking the ring gap right now

and if you've just installed the pistons, rings and bearings on the crank, rotating the crank by hand is gonna be a beatch cause it's all not broken in yet.

ya, this is my first rebuild and im fliping out cause i dont want any thing to go wrong with it. and every thing look ok as far as the rings and bearings. thanks guys and i will start to look off that sticky

did you get the rod caps mixed up by accident??

i would install #1 piston, then turn the crank, install #2, then turn the crank..etc. that way you can find out where the problem is!
