thanks drunk guy! i'm really confident my dist. is in the right spot......but i guess it doesn't hurt to just move it and try it again.....this weekend i'll try that. but i'm starting to get to my limit, i really don't want to take it to a pro. I know i can figure this out.

if anyone can suggest anything i'd be very gratefull,

Update....1/7/11 Drove truck this morning, smoking out the whole neighborhood!! Only lasted about 3 miles then became normal. drove about 10 Miles to make sure it was all good, then headed to the Smog shop, passed CA smog with Flying colors on the first shot. Oh and runs great.

well this one time i took my old camrao to get it smogged the guy said he had to charge me a whole can of carb/choke clean cause thats what it took to pass theh dam thing .

iam still baffled on how it passed and if this was exceptable ... probely not but oh well i got my 800.00 out of that el camaro plus some...

Yeah no more smoke, I took the cat off and drained it, muffler had a lot of leftover coolant in it too! It drove for about 3 miles smoking really bad, but then cleaned up and doesn't smoke anymore. Good to go!! I have a bunch of pics can I email them to someone and have them post them for me

slightly off topic but i can't thread yet anyone have experience on rebuilding starters? i have three and none of them will strt the truck.
