checked all of the fuses and every thing is good, and i am using the coil out of the running truck. the 88 was a good running truck when i bought it, the body was just rusted out to nothing.

check the feul pump fuse. and make sure the mass air flow senser is all hooked up. check for spark, if you have spark, and still can't get fuel engine, maybe get an air compressor and try to pressurize the fuel tank to help prime the system. those are my first ideas.

Are you positively sure your distributor isn't a tooth off? Is it 180* off?
