well i was able to remove the starter got it checked out and it worked fine.. I even tried to turn the engine over by putting a breaker bar on there but it didnt budge convincing me that the engine has ceased. Before i even bothered to tear into the engine i realized that even if i got to a bent rod or whatever else might be damaged, i wasnt gonna be able to rebuild my engine because i have no clue how to. I mean sure i could prob. put it all back together but im doing this in an apartment parking lot and i dont really wanna hear the old folks bitching about me turning the parking lot into a shop. At this point I think my best bet it to find another engine to throw in or have it rebuilt by a shop. And im mad because i was looking for an engine on Craigslist and i found an 87 on 42's SASed with 5.29's front and rear with selectable lockers front and rear. EVEN THE AC works in this thing.. the tires are brand new too $3000 takes it.. I think imma get that and sell of my 4runner..or fix the engine and keep em both..But the engine will have to wait if i get this monster..

yeah, its a whole lot easier to swap a motor than rebuild one, but a word of advice...might wanna do the headgaskets on new motor b4 you get it in? might be easier on a stand, and that yotas a BEAST it would def be cool to get it if funds permit,.....and the oldfolks dont mind a monster sitting in their parking lotlmao

Well i dont mean folks like parents.. I meant it like other people around the complex..But ill be moving to my own home within the next two weeks so that wouldnt be a problem. Another option im considering is swapping a chevy 5.3 in there. My only question is..does anyone know if i can still use the ac system if i swap it into the 89 4runner?
I know its not my gen but imagine this when you turn the 4runner key =)

I dont think anyone would give me anything for it. And i think it might be worth more to me as a learning experience so i can rebuild it at my own pace and have an extra just in case..lol why you interested in it?
