i own a 1992 ford explorer 4w4, i just recently had to replace the inner and outer wheel bearing on both passenger side and driver side in the front. when i was done, for some odd reason i get a clicking noise from my passenger side hub when the hubs are set to free. when the hub is set to lock the noise stops and everything works fine. so i can drive with 4x4 off and the hubs locked no problem, but when 4x4 is off and i set it to free it clicks. even when in reverse. any ideas? thanks for your time!

Take the hub apart, clean, lube, install everything correctly.
Since this is a Toyota Forum, probably you will need to find your own factory service manual online. It will show you step by step how to put it back together correctly.

The best way to repair this is to drive to the nearest wrecking yard then take off the radiator cap and walk away.
