how much ac oil?

how much ac oil?

i have a 22re system with a 3.4 compressor.
should i use oil for 4cyl. system or,
should i use oil for the 6cyl. system?

If your going to use this compressor on the 22RE a/c system then drain all of the oil you can out of the 3.4 compressor and refill it with oil for the 22RE a/c system. It is very important to get all the oil you can out of the 3.4 compressor, because the oil used in
R12 a/c systems is not compatable with the oil used in R134a a/c systems.

Or, don't drain anything and use an oil compatible with both R12 and HFC-134a.
In general though, you shouldn't add any oil unless you have flushed the system, then there should be a recommendation for how much oil to add for each part of the system: 2oz for the compressor, 1oz for condenser or evaporator replacement, etc.

fsm said 3.4 ac compressor needs 100 cc of oil after i drained all the oil.
i used compressor oil from the toyota dealership and changed the filter/drier.
