241k miles on my 3.0 V6. I replaced the short block at that time as a precautionary measure since I was in there to do head gaskets. The 241k mile motor had a .003"(in other words it was barely worn) ridge at the top of the cylinder walls, crank was in very good shape and still within original specifications. Needless to say I cleaned it up, put some bearings and rings in it, honed the cylinder walls, put in new core plugs, painted it, and sold it as a reman short block for a healthy profit. I work at a Toyota Stealership in the service dept. These 3VZ motors will run forever if you do your maintenance. They're not quite as good as the 20R or 22R because you can thoroughly abuse that motor and it'll still run forever. After you replace the head gaskets with the updated Toyota parts they blow less than the 22R does.

I have a 95 pickup 4wd with the 3vze v6 and I currently got 322,194 miles on it. I have been using Quakerstate 4x4 semi-synthetic 10w-30 motor oil since the odometer read 33,048. I do the maintenace myself and feel I have saved lots of cash. I also change the motor and automatic transmission oil religiously.

The only problem I have had was a leaking head gasket (drivers side). It was sad to find out that my truck missed the toyota headgasket campaign by 3 months so I had to shell out the cash and repair it myself. Other than that the truck is running excellent. For sure my next automobile purchase will be a toyota.

90' 4runner, original tranny.... 201,000 miles

 

I put 187K miles on a 84 4x4 22R the last of the solid axle trucks. I put 136K on a 95 FZJ80. Both were running great when I sold them. The problem with Toyota is that they last so long that you just end up wanting a new ride before you will ever wear one out. I guess that's not a problem

 

I forgot to give you the mileage on my 4runner (271 miles). I have 4700 on my 350Z

That makes me feel a little better about my 3.slow. I've been worried about my HG going again but I've got the redesigned HG in there now. There's those out there that still blew a 2nd time. I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

This is a common problem with the 5-speeds. The bushing will wear out and the shifter will pop out of gear. I think it's like a $10 fix.

Anyways, my 3.slow has got 132K miles on it now. I'd say it's running the best it's ran since the head gasket recall. Power is still low but I guess I can attribute some of that to the bigger tires. I can now use my cruise control without any downshifting given the hills aren't too big. I just wish this motor was a little more "shadetree mechanic" friendly.

Things to be fixed pertaining to the motor:
Leaking PS pump
Oil leak (I think it's the oil pan but not absolutely sure. I'm going through about a quart every 1K miles.)

Other than that, I've got a few other small things to fix but they are pretty minor.

If only I had a 5-speed...

 

277K and change on the original 22R in my '84.
I pulled the motor a few weeks ago due to a spun rod bearing (bearing failed from coolant in the oil from a HG failure).
Motor is now completely rebuilt and installed, just have to get her running again; probably by the end of the week.
