How to hack a MT harness to work with an AT?
I have a 3.0L from a 1990 4Runner w/ manual trans that we are trying to swap in to a 1990 4Runner w/ automatic trans...I know the wiring harness is different, and I know the ECUs are different but is there anything else? Also is there any way to cut and splice in the required wiring from the AT harness into the MT harness? If so does anyone have any info on this, I've searched all over and have yet to come up with anything but the obvious of swapping the harnesses altogether...

If your trying to run the auto tran here is a place to get a manual shifter tha operates the solenoids in the tranny for shifting, I have one in mine. I can manully shift all four gears when i want and also have lu. It allows you to eliminate the trans controller...
