How to go about fixing this leak

So I have an 89 toyota pickup and the front diff is leaking from the front cover. Im curious on how you guys have gone about doing this by either dropping the whole diff or removing the the cross member inbetween the suspension arms, which is proving very difficult to remove and I cant get the bolts to budge at all.

When the front diff is leaking it is usually the pinion seal. Are you sure your not leaking from the front pinion and its just leaking back to the front cover part?
