Awesome vid. Can't believe I haven't seen that. Thankfully due to the nature of my big Holset I dont full spool until 3200 so off the line traction is a non issue. Hell my 60' times are 2.4 :-( I can't wait to see what happens after 16gpm of methanol goes down the hatch.
It seems that drag radials would prob a better idea than 4wd launches.

Fact of life in racing things break.
On your transfer case it all depends on who built it.
I know your not putting out high horse power but what parts were used in the internals can make a big difference.
I would go with Drag Slicks over 4 wheel drive launches .
Unless you want to get really good at changing transmissions and T cases
The weakest link will fail first but you no doubt know that.
Good luck

I don't know man, I think I see the front wheels spinning on launch...
Edit for clarification: meaning he's launching in 4wd. Although it's probably newer chain drive case?

front "wheel" spinning. It looks like the diffs are open/open. Which would make the truck still grab with just one wheel in the front. What is the reason for not getting a full spool for the rear of your truck? If you are actually trying to go somewhere in a straight line, full spool is the way to go.
BTW-- I had a supercharged taco with every possible mod on it. When I switched to 12" wide street tires in the rear and an ACT clutch, the truck hooked up nice. Well, I also had a custom TRD posi trac in the rear as well so I'm sure that helped.

I would imagine so. Or hold the brake and give it some gas to spool, they call they "Powerbraking". Its only for a few seconds so it shouldn't cause any problems if everything is in good shape.
Edit: I read your turbo thread, I see you're quite experienced powerbraking. I don't know if it would help in your case, since it seems like maybe the turbo is a hair too large. Once you're off the two step, you would probably just drop boost again until the RPMs pick up.
