Question How do you unStick a Brake Caliper

Unable to compress one of the front brake calipers. Can anyone offer a suggestion?

Thank you in advance.

Open the bleeder valve?

You can get one of these at any auto parts store, and they work pretty well. http://www.ipdusa.com/products/6627/...iding-calipers

If its frozen, get a new caliper.

I second buy a new one. Refab calipers are cheap.

86 4runner, 515,xxx miles on the original motor never been rebuilt, currently stock, mods planned as soon as I fix everything wrong.

On a different truck, I had a flexible line fail internally and it was completely blocked (which kept the brake from working, which is why I was trying to get it apart ....). Opening the bleeder valve would have allowed me to compress the caliper (but I would have missed my real problem).

I've always used a big C-clamp.

Wow I pretty much just used my fingers.

Then I keep up on the calipers

I have one of those tools that I used once

Open the bleeder then squeeze. If it really is frozen they need a rebuild. Rebuilt calipers are so cheap at napa it's a no brainer.
