No not really seems like 1,2,3, anything over that when i shift i'm at about 2k. Might just be me not sure it runs good otherwise pulls like a mule in heat between 3k and 4100 haven't gone over that yet still breaking her in need to check my timing and get it to 8 degrees, that might help alot. Thanks for the input

Try hooking up the hose that goes form the intake to the valve cover...Maybe your getting too much air in that way. I think it may help out as well, the intake will be burning some of the oil fumes and some gas fumes that may escape form the combustion chamber. You may be getting excess air through there.

Ya that 268 is nice!!! I gotta get my valves readjusted. I really think I need a new timing chain as well but I have other things that need done first.

Ya i put that back right after i took that pic.. I could feel the vacuum leak. I'll be messing with the timing next to see how far i can advance it and check valve adjustment.. It will get there can't wait to get like 1500 on it so i can take it in the woods

You will want the timing set around 5...according to Ted and a few others. I had it more advanced and I had a ton of valve tapping. I had a tough time with the exhaust on 3 and I think it's being real noisy as is.

I know the itch...I really don't (well trying not to) wheel the truck so much it's my DD and I have a 4runner that I'm slooooooowly building up. Just got some rear coils and I have to fix a fuel leak before I can take her out again. I've missed 2 runs and I think I'm going to miss a 3rd.

Well I've kinda turned my dd into my project... I bought a 3.slow for 1k with 114k on it, that has become my new work/dd truck for when/if my baby breaks...
I have so much i want to do but little to no $$. She has some sag and a bit of rust through the doors, want to do the exhaust. Just try to pull the most hp/trq out of it as i can and then move on for atleast the moment lol..

I guess were in the same boat...big ideas and no funding.

I used 2.25 galvanized schedule 40 pipe for my exhaust and an internet muffler that later I found that I could get at Advanced Auto for $40 instead of 50 after shipping. For now I don't have a CAT but I'll have to get one soon.

Good thing she likes it!!! That way she'll understand when you get new parts. I used some cheep AAL from Advanced Auto helped out some and I got them at a great price. Might help you out as well. Make sure the Supra is a 82, I believe Junkers said that it was the only year that was plug and play.

congrats on the future wedding!!! I plan on getting hitched this summer. Just a small beach wedding with the kids.

Best way to check for a vacuum leak is with a can of carb cleaner. Spray at areas such as gaskets, hoses and ports. When your idle changes, you found your leak.
