How to attach gas tank on long bed 4x4?

I have a long tank with no transverse straps, only flanges with sets of three holes at front and rear. It is long and barely fits between transverse frame members. I understand how the rear attaches, but how does the front attach? At the front end, I see 3 holes in the frame's cross member. I need 3 for the tank and 3 for the skid plate. Do they share holes?

I took this off last July and forgot how I did it!

I replied to your other post about this. For the front, I don't remember if the tank and skid share holes. I "thought" you could drop the skid without dropping the tank. Hold the skid plate to the tank and look. Maybe you can put the center bolt in the tank and the two outer's go in through both the skid and the tank??

I cut my frame off behind the cab so I can't go look at my truck. I have a fuel cell in my bed now. I CAN go out and hold my skid plate up to my tank so I'll go see if I can figure it out.

Thanks; I saw your other post but was still confused. But I got the front figured out, too. There were two sets of holes (each with welded nuts) on the transverse frame member: 3 on its bottom surface, for the skid plate; and 3 behind it, a bit higher up. I hadn't seen the second set while I had the tank hanging, a bit off-kilter, from ratchet straps. Note to self: Take more photographs while things are fully disassembled, and while fully assembled, and not just in the states in between!

OK good. I just went out to look at my tank and skid plate and saw that the front obviously bolts on a different plane than the tank itself. I guess I don't have to load the pics. The rear is easier. You can even see the contact pattern of the bracket on your tank in your pic. I saw the same on mine. Glad you got it figured out. Your arms and neck will be sore after fighting this all day.

Yep, my arms did get pretty sore! They are not used to that. I'm just glad that, thanks to the lift, I was able to just lie under the tank on some cardboard to do this work.
