High Idle post-headgasket (3VZE)
My friend and I recently r&r'd the headgasket on his '94 pick-up. Runs well but the idle is high, staying ~1000-1200 when warm.
Timing is spot-on, no missing vac lines that we could find. Manual says ECU sets idle, but we suspect a mechanic may have fiddled with something in the past.
Question: If we mess with the throttle (looks like there's a stopper screw) will that allow a lower idle? The only other thing I can think of is a leaky intake gasket, but it's all new stuff in there. Or maybe we screwed up a big vac line beneath the intake?
Thanks for any insight/suggestions!
