Hesitation when starting

Hello friends!

It's been a while since I have been on this site due to my hectic work schedule but I hope you guys can help me figure out what is wrong with my truck. This problem started about a week ago. My truck seems to hesitate when cranking over when before it started very quickly. This problem occurs at all times whether it is hot or cold. I have checked the battery and everything is fine. It shows that I have more than enough amps to start my truck so I do not know what it could be. Also, I am noticing slight hesitation when it is cold. I would just leave it alone but am worried that later in the future it can cause me more problems. I do not like it when my truck is not running the right way. I have checked the timing and do not have any issues with that.

My truck seems to hesitate also when accelerating with this issue now so it's something i need to fix.

Any ideas?

Below is a video of me starting my truck a few times so you guys can see how slow it is cranking over.

All comments will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

When was the last time you gave it a complete tune up ?, plugs, plug wires, cap/rotor, and most important the fuel filter. Another thing to do is remove the throttle body and give it a good cleaning, also remove the cold start injector and clean it.

make sure none of your plug wires are touching the header. if they do, it will melt open the wires and arc, causing a hesitation on acceleration.

+1 on a tune up

It's been about 4 months since I tuned it up. The whole intake setup was removed then and I had it all thoroughly cleaned and sand blasted before painting it. My fuel filter was also replaced then with an oem one along with the plug wires. I will clean the cold start injector but if it is dirty or faulty would that cause it to crank slowly?

Anything that you guys can think of that would give me the slow crank?

This problem happened without any warning. It started one day great and ran perfectly and then when I went to start it again after sitting in the parking lot this happened.

I really don't even know where to begin looking since it is not throwing any codes. I was hoping that from experience someone may know what is causing the issue.

Keep the feedback coming and hopefully it will help me pinpoint what is going on.

Have you had the battery checked ?, maybe one of the cells is getting weak, just throwing out ideas.

Slow cranking could be caused by cold weather reducing the amperage the battery is able to supply, excessive resistance within the cabling to the starter, oil weight or even too much initial advance in the ignition timing.

Thats very true, try checking the battery cables also, they can look good as new on the outside but can be coroded on the inside.
