it should be fine.

Here is a link to Randy's Ring and Pinion. They are only showing a 20 buck difference between 4.56 and 4.88.

ya if you can get it for 200 more, work a couple hours extra and get the 4.88s you;ll be happier

soo that ring and pinion is what i would put in the differential??
what i was talkin about was just swappin the whole differentials and it is 400 for 4.56 and 600 for 4.88s. would it be easier to buy the ring and pinion??

you'll have to have someone set your gears if you dont ahve the tools and knowledge how to do it... so if you can get new diff that would be a better way to go.

is it pretty hard to put the ring and pinion and gear it? cause if i do that way then i can save money if i just buy the ring and pinion and they also come with a year warranty

you gotta get the lash & bearing pre-load right or bye-bye gears. It'll hum & growl until a few days later the spider gears go *bang*

There are lots of little adjustments that make very difficult for the first timer with no help. I've never heard of a noob setting up gears on their own.

With help & the right tools? Go for it. I grenaded a rear end in an old dodge once because I didn't bother setting it up right....I tried to do it "by feel" lol, oooops.
