Help! Power Antenna Issues

I'll start by saying I searched, and found nothing. I just rebuilt the factory power antenna on my 94 4Runner, and I've run into an odd problem. Now, when I turn on the radio the antenna mast retracts, and when I turn it off, it extends. Am I crazy here? I'm guessing I just have to reverse the wires into the control relay, or the motor, but I'm not exactly sure. The whole sound system is original, so I'm pretty sure everything else is fine. HELP!!

Thanks,
Andy

How did you "rebuild" it? Did you mess with any of the wiring?

Sounds to me like you just need to reverse the wires like you said.

No re-wiring took place. It wasn't going up or down, so I just took it apart and fixed the connection between the plastic/nylon cable that moves the mast and the mast. It had broken, but everything else was fine. I did make sure to put everything back together in the right place, and as with most Toyota electrical parts, there's only one way to plug them in.

I just reversed the plug wires nearest the antenna motor and it's all happy now. I think I found out why it was unplugges when I bought the truck.

sounds like it was rebuilt before, and not done correctly before you got it heh

Definitely, just like the vacuum lines in the ENTIRE engine compartment. I chased incorrectly hooked up lines for days before everything worked correctly. I just have to keep reminding myself how good the deal I got was.
