help with oil leak

hey all.. i just finished putting in a reman engine in my '91 pickup, 3.0 v6. put in a new oil pump, water pump, timing belt and a few other items while doing the install. engine started up but is POURING oil out betwen the oil pump and block on the driver side between the two hex plugs. i'm going to try to post a picture

i followed my factory service manual on the install, applied rtv in the spots that are indicated and torqued everything to spec. the only thing i can think of is that i re-used the o-ring that is around the inlet from the pump to the oil filter. the full engine gasket set and new oil pump did not come with the o-ring and against better judgment i reused it.

just wondered ur opinions, if u ran into anything like this before i tear back into the motor, drop the diff, oil pan, timing belt etc to pull the oil pump off. thanks in advance...

I know this is an old post but you just described my issue exactly. What did you find out?I also dropped in a new long block and reused the o ring.
