Help new engine runs rough in gear

Okay s here's the deal the 22re in my atomatic 86 pickup decided to throw a rod out the side of the block last Thursday on the way to work. I found a 93 22re swapped my intake manifold and all sensors and vacuum lines to the 93 motor. I got it running and it ran horribly. Messed with the vacuum lines and it ran a little better. Now it hesitates while accelerating and has a hard time reaching 40 mph. Please help I have no idea what the problem could be. Bad vacuum or out of adjustment thottle cable? Any ideas?

Nobody...Can anybody at least tell me if all toyota 22res, just r's, and rte's ecus have 22r stamped on them? I called the parts store about gettin a new one and they told me it was like $508. I asked them to cross reference my current ecu part number and they told me that one was $199. What gives?

What all did you leave on the 93 motor? Did you use your 86 injectors, TB, etc?

The best thing you can do so someone on here can help you out is narrow down the problem, or describe it better. Is it sputtering or misfiring or just a total lack of power?

Do some investigating and get back to us. If your not using an ecu from an RE motor that would be your main problem. If you need a replacement make sure you get an ecu from a 86 RE. And dont buy new just hit up the junkyard.

The only thing I used from the 93 was the block and head plus the distributor. Everything else is from the 86. Its sputtering and backfiring. The motor feels like it doesnt have any power. Its the same ecu that was in the truck when the old RE was in. I googled the part number and it took me to a pirate post that said that ecu was for an 86 std 5 speed with no a/c. Thats what I have minus the 5 speed.

Check to see if you have spark to all four cylinders, clean up your MAF, TPS

Could your dizzy be off by a tooth? Maybe the fact that your ecu was for a 5spd could be causing you problems, but idk Ive never owned anything other than standard trannys.
