Help! Need a speedo cable

Just called toyota and they discontuined the speedo cable for my 87 Turbo 4Runner. Any other places carry them? Where should i look?

Also when i pull the cable from my auto tranny will oil go everywhere? do i need to drain the tranny before i remove the cable?

Below is the part # for a speedometer cable for an 87 4Runner 22rte auto.
It's $56.78 from Champion Toyota in Houston Texas. Says it's still available.
No you don't have to drain the fluid to remove the cable from the back of your transfer case.
Item Number MSRP Core Price

What is the length of the cable, and how hard is it to replace the 'core'. seems to be the only kit i can find to replace it. (without paying a lot more and waiting on shipping)

ALSO, I know having the speedo not working makes my cruise control not work, so, is there ANY way having the speedo not working could mess with my fuel, air, or spark? Seems to idle out ok when its warmed up but have loss of power and misses while under a light load.

Not having your speedo hooked up will not affect your engines performance what so ever. Also, you can unscrew it from the trans and it will not leak. The cable gear (that bolts into the case) is a sealed unit. so not having it hooked up won't affect anything.

No leaky leaky. Other 4runner automatic cable should also work if not maybe evena manual as long as they are the same length or close too.
