Hello guys, I am in the market for a new radiator for my 88 Runner 3.0 and it has to be the biggest best cooling thing out there..... Not really but my last car gave me nightmares because it would overheat standing still with the engine off. I am almost broke but I really need to make this count, I live in the dessert and towing uphills is in my future.

The $88. is really tempting and it is all aluminum and no plastic.

Any suggestions, comments or experiences with these brands or stores is appreciated. I also do not want a generic "one size fits most." And if you have something better that is not way too expensive let me know.

I would go with an all metal 3 row from radiatorbarn

I would definitely get an aluminum radiator. After that, the next biggest thing that decides cooling capacity is radiator thickness. So which ever one is the thickest, get that.

 

offroader, all brass copper 3 row radiatorbarn. Non offroader.. Autozone spectre plastic/ aluminum core radiator.. Better for cooling but not as beefy for serious offroader. Will handle normal offroadng.. Comes with lifetime warranty.

That is what I have only because I can repair it any where with tools you can get any where.

Aluminum is all well and good if you have a mall crawler and your other vehicle is a roll back

Looks much like the one you listed, but from another company. It came quickly, in nice shape, and works very well. I did have to fudge around to get it to fit right though. IIRC I may have bought one not specific to my engine. I probably bought the one with the biggest dimensions of the three which made it a bit of a squeeze.

yeah...I went thru seven radiators before I found one that fit. Good luck.

 

the aluminum rad is made by silla.it has no plastic,but the core is joined to the tanks with epoxy.its a 2 year rad at most,ask me how i know.silla will warranty for life,but its not worth the hassle or expense to send back.I am selling mine because i bought a csf rad,but mine is for a 22re.dont buy from silla,but for 88 bux,you wont be out much

 

Radiator barn, no complaints here. Even had my coolant freeze this year with no damage to the radiator.

 

Not sure of brand, but I got the cheapest one Advance Auto had. Lifetime warranty. On my third one now.......I understand money being tight, but spend it now and avoid the hassle later.
