Help! Installed rebuilt engine and clutch fork stuck/broken slave cylinder
Blew my head gasket a two weeks ago and had broken timing chain guides, so I decided to pull the engine and rebuild it.
I got the engine in and everything seemed to go in ok, nothing bound up albeit I didn't do anything to the clutch fork I just put it back in like I took it out.
I got everything else buttoned up and went to start the truck, the clutch pedal went straight to the floor and I heard squirting, thinking I blew a line I checked under the truck and found a puddle under the slave cylinder. It looks like the slave cylinder wasn't lined up with the clutch fork? And the fork doesn't want to move, Im obviously going to have to replace the slave cylinder and re-bleed the clutch but am I gonna have to disconnect the engine from the transmission again? I really want to avoid that and I just don't think the transmission would have gone in right had the fork and throw out bearing been out whack
Help is very much appreciated, this is the biggest job I have ever done and I've been at it everyday between work and school fulltime trying to get my daily going again, getting really frustrated and

I pulled the slave cylinder off, the fork does have play so i don't think I messed up anything with the alignment and reinstallation. Hopefully a new cylinder and bleed resolves this.

It indeed looks like the slave cylinder rod was never through the fork the way it should have been. As far as the fork not wanting to move, the clutch spring is quite strong, and I doubt you can easily compress it by hand, without the mechanical and hydraulic advantage of the clutch pedal and hydraulic system. It's probably OK internally, just assembled improperly on the outside.I'd sure install the slave cylinder correctly and test it out before I dropped the transmission.
