Something did occur to me just now, if you still have your valve cover off, try turning the engine with the starter, ignition coil disconnected. That may produce enough pressure after a minute or so of turning the engine to get oil to squirt out the cam bearings/journals... (do these trucks have cam bearings?) I would disconnect the fule pump too if you try that.

I do live in alaska, Anchorage to be exact. And i DID turn it with the starter for a while..didnt see any oil going into the head...but who knows, maybe i need to start it first...

Mudd, i did remove the oil pan of course...i rebuilt my engine I did put back on the oil strainer.

As for what happened when i tried to start it...is a different story.

Heres a heads up... PLASTIGAUGE!

haha.. the engine seized up after turning it with the starter when i was tryn to check for oil. I thought it was a dead battery that was locking it up, but was really the #1 connecting rod bearing. Somehow, there is a high spot along the front side of the crank surface. about a 1/16 inch wide down the entire surface. Didnt mess up the bearings too bad, still all metallic, but some wear in the high spot. I'll be using emory cloth once i run to the store in a sec to get it hogged down then puttin everything back and tryin to start it tomorrow most likely.. I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes. haha.
