Help for daughter's 2WD

I gave my daughter my 94- nice truck- stick, manual steering, air- only 54K miles. She's a little thing and can't handle manual steering. I'm converting to power and have it all done EXCEPT the pitman arm, steering arm. I took the pitman off the manual gearbox and was just going to hook it to the power box but the hole is not the same size- way too small.

Question is how to remove the steering arm from pitman arm without destroying the rubber boot. Pickle fork won't do it. I've rented several pullers from the auto store, but the gap is too wide. One almost fits, but it slips.

Any tricks / advice would be appreciated.

You'll have to slam the heck out of that thing with a pickle fork, or find a puller that works. I wouldn't worry about dstroying the rubber boot though, you won't be needing that pitman arm anymore...
