Help with bracket

Hey guys, I've been away from my truck for a while and am finally getting around to finishing the engine and I can't remember what this bracket is for. Can anyone help?

I think that is a exhaust down pipe bracket and a clamp should go with it.

Yep^

2 of the transmission bolts go through that on the driver's side, then a "hose" clamp around the pipe and bracket. (It's not really a hose clamp, but you'll get the idea).

Tip: make sure nothing is under stress when putting it on, otherwise, you have a higher chance of cracking the exhaust pipe.

that is an exhaust clamp bracket, but i believe it bolts to the bellhousing instead of the transmission.
