Help with 1987 toyota truck standard shortbed-turn signal harness
I have the 1987 Toyota truck, standard 4 speed trans, 2 barrel carb, shortbed.
It seems these great little trucks are all but forgotten. Unbelievably they only cost around $5,500 brand new and lasted an average of 30-40 years. Mine has hauled at least a half-million pounds of everything you could imagine. Most of what I see discussed online are the Hilux (I believe those were pre-1982?), the 4 runners, or the tacomas.
But it is difficult keeping the truck together as the peripheral parts all get old. The engine/trans/brakes are fine after rebuilds but other things not so good.
I am trying to replace a broken turn signal harness. I got the old one off but cannot seem to find a new one. There seems to be a ton of parts for the hilux for some reason. Also for the 4 runner, but damned if I can find the turn signal harness for this truck. Does anyone know of a source for this part? I believe it is the harness for the wiper switch also? Would the harness for a 1984-1989
4 runner ALSO fit a standard pickup??
The other part (which I think I have coming from online) is the key was so old and used it broke off in the key barrel. I managed to get the barrel out of the car and get the key out, that was fairly difficult and now I am not sure if I will be able to get it back together. I ordered a key barrel from amazon and I am hoping it fits but I think I have a 50/50 chance.
I can't even find a schematic exploded parts diagram for this truck so I can get part numbers?
