I installed the pro comp es2000 stabilizer on my 1989 toyota 4runner. It is stock height but it has 31x10.5 r15 tires. I can turn all the way to the right but when i try to turn to the left i can't turn as much. Any ideas why this is? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

 

is there any adjustment where the shock bolts to?

i should know that answer but Ive never replaced that shock! i sas'ed before i needed to.

 

I the shock binding? How far can you turn it? Are we talkin only a little, or almost to full lock?

 

the shock doesnt bend, i can (if i try hard enough) push it all the way down and then take it all the way out. When i turn to the left it fully locks

 

Im a little confused about the problem then....

 

that makes two of us... Is there something i need to adjust? or it just bolts on? I asked the 4wheelparts people and they said i didn't need anything else for the install. But i did not ask if i needed to adjust it or align it in some way?

Are you sure you've got the right stabilizer.

I replaced mine and can't for the life of me think what your problem could be.

 

did you install the shock with the tyres at full lock like you should have?

That happened on my 90 when I got one from FWP. I was sold the wrong one... Take it back and make them get you the correct one!

Yep I'd have to agree with nmtoy; you got the wrong one. It doesn't matter how the wheels are aligned when you replace the stabilizer, it's a simple put it on type part. If it isn't allowing full range of steering it's got to be the wrong part # - unless you unbolted something else in the steering linkage & moved tires or steering wheel etc. If all you did was unbolt the old stabilizer & bolt on the new one it's the wrong part.

 

oh i though new stabilizers came with new mounts sorry
