heater/blower problem

86 22re 4x4

So my truck is not showing much at all on the temp. gauge. Just barley above the bottom line. I had an overheating problem back in the summer (temp gauge worked fine and it showed it was running hot) and I replaced the thermostat. That fixed that problem. Also I replaced my timing chain cover plate (due to it being warped and leaking lots of oil) this past summer so I had emptied all the coolant out of the system. Put everything back together and filled the radiator but didn't "burp" the system that I have just read about and compleated. I still have minimal heat and the temp gauge is reading really low. Also the blower for the heat when on 3/4 full I can hear some rattling and at full blast the whole dash vibrates. I do not smell any coolant coming out of the vents. What is my best course of action?
Thanks

You need to make sure there is no air in the cooling system, if there is the heater won`t work properly. As for the vibration check the heater blower, pull it out and make sure there is nothing in the fan itself, sometimes they can get full of leafs and other junk and that can make it noisey. Another thing to check (replace) is the temperature gauge sending unit, they can go bad and not read properly, i had this happen to me.
