Exclamation Headlights and tail lights problemzzz

Hi,

I am looking for some help...
After a ride under rain and snow, my 1992 pickup have nice problems :
Brake lights don't work
Numeric clock is dead
Headlights stay open when I shut the motor off and remove the key from the contact switch. Sometimes, after few minutes, lights are finally closing!
When I set the key to ACCESORIES, the headlights are turning off and when I start the motor everything is fine.
Also, when the vehicule is shut off, if I press brake pedal, the dash lights open.

What should I look first? The truck is in a warm place since 2 days and I try to see if the is no water around ou inside the fuse boxes... nothing fixed yet.

Thanks
Franck

My guess is "English as a Second Language." Heaven knows I can't do as well as Franck1970 when I try to post to Russian forums.

So, Franck1970, welcome to Yotatech!

As you've suggested, you have a large number of problems without much in common. I would start by looking for any water near either junction/fuse box: next to the driver's left ankle, and one under the hood on the right side.

Hi and thanks for your fast replies...

In fact I'm from Quebec, Canada. Almost the same climate as in Russia
We found the problem: it was under the lining of the front left fender. A bad move with the buffer when rebuilding floors (metal sheet + fiberglass) scratched a bit of a nice little RED wire.
Everything's fine now.

BTW it's a 1992 xcab 4x4 with a full rebuilt 22re.

I'm going right now to buy a lottery ticket... Heaven knows...

Thanks a lot and have a nice ride!

Hey gang ..am new here but i had a problem with my dash lights and tail lights not working. I tried everything. Turned out to be the relay switch which is located on the fuse box. Give this a shot if you have the same problem.

Hi,

Had similar problem with my dash last winter. It was just that all bulbs in the dash were burned-out. When the last one died, I thought about an electric problem...

Cheers
