Headlights

The headlights on my '89 pick up seem dim at night. I can barely see the beams when driving at night but they seem normal when I stand right in front of them. Could I just need new bulbs? Could I replace the originals with some brighter LEDs? Thanks

Start by buying the Hella H4 housings and some hella bulbs. Do not fall for the fancy bulb BS.
That should give you 220% compared to the stock sealed pieces of crap.

The final touch is a relay and straight to battery setup, like Roger describes here: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...rawler+Offroad

I'd say both are equally important. The Hella H4 housings put the light in the right place, and the relay harness makes the lights as bright as possible. The good thing about the H4 housings is that they put the light where it belongs, and don't blind oncoming traffic. Many of the other options just put light everywhere and are dangerous for oncoming traffic.

Which relay harness are you talking about?

I wired them to the orange running lights, giving me a cool daytime running lights look. At dusk you can be the cool kid and run the running lights + front accessory lights

I'll take some self awesomeness pics later and post here.

I strongly suggest using all new wire from the relay on. New plugs too, here are the ones I used: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Here are the Hella lights I used: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

I used a separate relay for normal & high beams but did have to run a wire back to the high-beam indicator bulb for that to still work. Was a fun little project and am so happy with the light output.
