Head qasket problems

My 94 4runner 3.0l blew a head gasket. I was sitting at a stop light and when I took off I felt the pedal pop and seen the vapor/smoke coming from the tailpipe pulled over and then had it towed home. Come to find out the cat had been rattling and it finaly stopped up enough that is caused the head gasket to go. The truck Never over heated or anything but water pouring out the exuast. No water in the oil. I'm to busy to tear it down to fix it but was wondering how bad a head gasket is to get to? The motor has 205K. I'm leaning more toward selling than fix though. It's on ebay now to see if I could get 800 for it.

How bad is it? It's a real pain. Several HG replacement threads on here. Mine is almost done:

This one's good too:

If you are pretty comfortable with this stuff it won't be too bad. This was my first time opening my engine and it has taken me several months, granted I haven't been in much of a rush either.

I'm comfortable when it comes to tear down small block fords but Yotas are like diesil motors to me. Don't know where to start or how the legos go.
